And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, all that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient   Exodus 24:7

Obedience is a form of submission.  How can one become obedient to or submissive toward less they know the supremacy or preeminence of one greater than one’s self?

We as men do have a difficult time of submissiveness less it would involve another being submissive unto us as individuals.   We can readily understand the submissiveness to us from another, albeit when the shoe is on the other foot we balk and stumble at the conformity of a submissive life unto another of greater superiority.  We have great difficulty in walking the walk of being obedient to another’s commands.  John 3:31 - He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

That we may know the importance of obedience to the supremacy of our creator God, we need to confirm or to make our election sure in 2nd. Peter 1:10

            Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

We need to make sure we are born from above and have accepted Jesus the living Christ as our eternal one and only Saviour. John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

3:7 - Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  We need but to take a look at that all so familiar scripture verse John 3:16 to keep it in its simplest form of understanding:

 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If one truly has made an acceptance of Christ to the point of total surrender of their being;

Then they can with assurance have this position of belonging to the family as a child of God’s.    At times some ministers of the Word assert it as being born from above, which is the way I feel it should be acknowledged.   However if one does not receive Jesus the Christ as Lord and Saviour of their life, there remains having no other option than that of belonging to the “great liar and arch deceiver Satan”. 2nd. John 1:7 for many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

How much more simple could one make the understanding of this utterance of Christ himself?  Man is without excuse.

Manifestation of one’s understanding of the realism and acceptance of God’s truths will be evident in the lifestyle and ways of the claimant.

Obedience is not always an easy task or way of life, as it always demands following another’s will in place of yours.   As a new born, this is most often the first encounter of obedience in which we experience our life’s first lessons by learning the meaning of obedience.  Our will must need to be dominated or under another’s control.  Our desires and wants have to give way to another’s directions and commands.   Of course this is where the fork in the road splits.  We are born Psalms 58:3   the wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.   A question enters my mind with this scripture…are some born innocent and others born wicked, or are all born with the capability of pursuing their own special interest?  At any rate I do believe we are born “with the capability of decision making” regarding evil and righteousness,  even though humanity is born with a fallen nature from the fall of the Garden of Eden, and we are born with restless activity always wanting and wondering.

Proverbs 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

Ecclesiastes 1:15 - That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.   Humanity is born knowing no bounds, desiring that which pertains to the flesh, for they know not the things of the Spirit.  Vanity overrides their desires to know the bounds in which they should keep and be limited to in season, thus the disobedience to the ways of the Lord, takes precedence in their lives.

The Bible teaches the age of innocence, or does it?  I do believe there is not a specific age in which we cross the line of accountability to spiritual truths.  I firmly believe we develop and mature into the exposition of bedrock spiritual truths.  This gives God the sole right to justly judge us on an individual basis in which humanity has zilch to do with.   Our heavenly Father and Him only know the individuals heart, sole and mind.  I do realize the scripture tells us that we shall know the tree by the fruits it bares.( Matthew 7:20 )   But I also know some trees takes longer than others to produce good fruit, sprouting forth out from our learned and intrinsic traits. .  One needs to consider the parable of the Sower in this questionable area of “when” does an individual become accountable and eternally consequentially responsible before God.

The unregenerate man has the call and demands of obedience on their life in the civil laws of society.  Humanity in general has the need to be obedient toward the integral or essential demands of civilization.  However the regenerate individual has additionally the demands of being obedient to the commands reaching forth from the Word of God.

We know that the Love of God esteems the act of obedience highly by His statement found in 1st.Samuel 15:22 - King James Version And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.   To be obedient is in a sense’s to be sacrificial”.
